Olde-Tyme Peach Festival Middletown 2026 Recap: A Peachy Day Downtown

The 33rd Annual Olde-Tyme Peach Festival filled Main Street with parade floats, peach pie, and a big crowd of neighbors and visitors on Saturday, August 15, marking one of the biggest days of the year in Downtown Middletown. Hosted by the Middletown Historical Society since 1993, the free, family-friendly Olde-Tyme Peach Festival Middletown tradition is known for taking over Main Street and a stretch of N. Cass Street with a morning parade, road race, classic car show, live music, and craft vendors, and this year's festival lived up to its reputation. Here's a look back at how the day unfolded downtown.

Parade, 5K, and Car Show: Olde-Tyme Peach Festival Middletown Highlights

The day started early with the Peach Parade stepping off at 8:45 a.m. from Meredith Middle School and marching down Broad Street to Silver Lake School, complete with marching bands, floats, and local organizations. Runners were out even earlier for the Middletown Peach Festival 5K, one of the area's longest-running road races, while car enthusiasts filled the MOT Senior Center Field for the Peach Car Show, where the first 60 vehicles received dash plaques and top finishers competed for awards. Full results from the 5K and car show are expected soon. Check the race website for finishing times as they're posted.

Peach Pie, Live Music, and Family Fun on Main Street

Back on Main Street, the festival footprint filled in with a local artist exhibit, historical displays, a peach pie contest, live music, games, and the kid-friendly Just Peachy Family Fun Fest, plus, naturally, plenty of fresh peaches for sale. With Main Street and a portion of N. Cass Street closed to traffic for the day, festivalgoers had the run of downtown, ducking into the Main Street shops and restaurants that stayed open for the occasion between activities.

A Thank You from the Peach Committee

In a post-festival note on Facebook, the Middletown Olde-Tyme Peach Festival organizers called this year's event "one of the BEST peachy days ever," crediting the vendors, sponsors, the Mayor and Council of Middletown, Middletown Public Works, the Middletown Police Department, DelDOT, Main and Cass Street residents, volunteers, entertainers, parade judges, and the Peach Committee for pulling the day together. It's the kind of community effort that makes Downtown Middletown's biggest festival possible year after year.
